Trying to conceive · Stage 01
Planning a pregnancy brings a lot of questions. Talk them through with a midwife who knows your name and your story, before you even see a positive test.

What you get
Cycle tracking, preconception health and a calm voice on the months when it feels slow.
Message your midwife team about cycles, symptoms, supplements or anything on your mind. Real answers from real midwives, in plain words.
We look at your health, history and goals, then agree simple next steps together. Folic acid, lifestyle, timing: one conversation at a time.
Trying can be hard on your head and your heart. We’re here for the difficult months too, and we’ll tell you honestly when it’s time to see your GP.
Trying to conceive
A preconception chat, 400 micrograms of folic acid every day, and a look at your general health.
Getting to know your cycle, spotting ovulation and keeping it low pressure.
Checking in on how you both feel and what might help. Extra support if it’s getting heavy.
The NHS advises seeing your GP after a year of trying, or sooner if you’re 36 or over. We help you prepare.
Topics we help with
How long should it take to get pregnant?
Most couples conceive within a year of trying. If it’s been a year, or six months and you’re 36 or over, talk to your GP. We’ll help you prepare.
